Talking to Doctors

We've noticed more than once that people have been reporting having problems talking to their doctors about their service animals. While the temptation is to say "Get a better doctor", this isn't necessarily practical nor desirable (extreme cases excepted.)

So, have you had a good experience talking to your doctor? Or a bad one? Any tips, suggestions or approaches which you'd like to share?
